MBA Distance learning is a solution for high fee education (India)

Is high fees structure an obstacle in doing MBA? Going for Distance MBA may be a viable option for you. As the cost for most of the regular MBA programmes range between Rs. 5 to 10 lakh, Distance MBA programmes offered by Top B-schools or Universities come as a big rescue for those who can’t afford such huge investments.

According to Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Director, Symbiosis Center for Distance Learning (SCDL); & Principal Director, Symbiosis Open Education Society, affordability of distance MBA education is one of the major factors which make its viable for those who can’t afford the cost of regular full time MBA programmes which usually range between Rs. 5-8 lakh. Moreover, Distance learning MBA eliminates cost incurred on travelling, infrastructure and a variety of other expenses.

While there is a growing concern amongst MBA aspirants over the ROI factor of the regular MBA programmes in most of the Tier-II and Tier-III B-schools in India, the distance MBA programmes offers a viable option for both freshers and working executives.

“One of the biggest advantages of the Distance MBA programmes is its low fee structure. Regular MBA is much more costly than Distance MBA. For example, SCDL fee for Post Graduate Diploma program is Rs 30,000 and for one year Post graduate Diploma program is Rs 18,000,” Dr. Mujumdar says.

Similarly, the fee at IMT-Centre for Distance Learning, is Rs One lakh for 2-Year PGDM Program, Rs.50,000 for 1-Year PG Diploma Programs and Rs 60,000 for PGDM (Executive) Program. IMT-Centre for Distance Learning, Ghaziabad offers 2-Year PGDM, 1-Year PGDM (Executive) and 1-Year PG Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resource, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain Management and Cyber Security. All these programmes are recognized by Distance Education Council, Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

The fee structure for one year Diploma Programmes at NMIMS Global Access -School of Distance Learning, is Rs 31,000; and for two year Post Graduate Diploma Programmes is Rs 61,000.

The Centre for Management Education (CME), AIMA also offers a two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), and a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology Management (PGDITM). The programme fee is Rs one lakh and Rs 88,000 respectively.
